The festival feels a natural part of the cultural landscape in Hackney.

The Square and the roads around it, received the bands as if they
had been designed for them, whilst the local churches, pubs
and community halls suddenly felt as if they had been waiting
for jazz to be played inside them.

As the cabinet lead for Culture in the borough, I am pleased to
give my whole-hearted backing to the De Beauvoir Jazz Festival.

Councillor Chris Kennedy

Cabinet Member for Culture, Health, Adult Social Care & Voluntary Sector (Hackney)

Experience the heartbeat of New Orleans, right here in De Beauvoir!

Introducing new audiences to jazz | Celebrating jazz's quiet revolutionaries

We're deeply inspired by the city of New Orleans and the French Quarter Festival, in particular. Our neighbourhood jazz festival brings the vibrant spirit of the Big Easy to our corner of London, blending traditional rhythms with progressive beats. As melodies fill the air, experience the streets come alive with dancing and celebration.

Stages across De Beauvoir will showcase a wide array of established and emerging jazz talent in an inclusive family-friendly event which aims to embody and celebrate the power of community, bringing people together through live music.

We are committed to paying all of our performing artists fairly and introducing new audiences to jazz. From seasoned jazz fans to curious newcomers, everyone's invited to this soul-lifting celebration. Come join the magic that happens when passionate musicians and an enthusiastic audience converge on welcoming stages!

The De Beauvoir Jazz Festival is a Community Interest Company. 100% of the money raised through ticket sales, grants and partnerships - goes towards paying the artists and festival production costs.
